So last month I joined Iron Cupcake but missed the deadline for entering, DUH!!! It was my most favorite ingredient next to chocolate: chili!!! The winner was my blog friend Bakerella, she made a Fire & Ice Cupcake that is to DIE for!!!!
Look at some of the cool prizes we can win if our cupcake is chosen:
You can vote for your favorite recipe here (ME! ME! PICK ME!!!!) between Sept 28 at noon and October 1st at noon. This month our ingredient is Basil ... now I thought long and hard about doing a savory cupcake but ya know, cupcakes are nto savory, if they are, are they not then called muffins?! So I had to research this a lot ... just so happens I was at a local Italian Restaurant after work one night and they had a Specialty Martini that night, Basil Lemondrop!! WALA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my cupcake!!!
Lemon Basil Toasted Pinenut Cupcakes
Frosted w/Toasted Pinenut Buttercream & Candied Basil Leaf
(Say that three times fast )
We had a tasting after dinner tonight, to say they were good would be an understatment, they turned out exactly like I wanted them to! Rich lemon flavor with a hint of basil complemented by a toasty pinenut frosting! Sometimes I amaze myself *LOL* I wish I had time to take step by step pictures of my projects but between working 2 jobs, taking a 9 yo to various weekly functions (horse lessons, girl scouts or theatre class) I barely have time to do my challenges! These cupcakes are a bit of work but SO WORTH every bit of it!!

Stumble It!

I'm thinking you deserve to win just for the sheer amount of effort/work you put in. These look fantastic.

These cupcakes are insane! I think you might be a genius. I only wish I could be as creative in the kitchen. Something to aspire to!
